As I sit and watch this I wonder why people don't get video blogging but at the same time I do. I don't see why people can't understand this expression. Cause that is so much of what it is. And it is very personal very intimate, if you will, expression. Do you mis the rain, do you miss the rain on the porch, or do you miss something that I don't see. I am not sure that I understand exactly so maybe that is why some don't get vlogging. But I understand this all means something to you and that makes this beautiful to me. I understand what is is to miss something and to long for something. Thank you for sharing.
I used to live in North Bergen and in Leonia, NJ. Towns are small in NJ. I think its closeness to NYC is a plus for a lot of people. Housing is better and cheaper compared to NYC's 5 borroughs. Most neighborhoods are definitely safer too. It's the industrial areas and ghettos give it a bad image.
I don't think it is anything tangible that you miss about the rain, or the porch, or the flowers. I think it is the feelings, the memories. I miss Connecticut for the same reason, and the ocean. I miss it because in NH, and inland, I don't feel the same.
I love your vlog. I can tell you that one of the reasons I like it so well is that I graduated from college 20 years ago this June. Sometimes, while chained to my computer at work, I think back to those college days...the friends, the travel, being young and beautiful with the potential to do anything and the plans to do everything. Your vlog reminds me of those great feelings and great times. I hope you keep vlogging. New Jersey may seem boring to you but in reality it is exciting. What is most exciting about this time in your life is not about where you are geographically. It's really about what you have to look forward to, and right now (for mere fleeting moments) that is everything! Enjoy it!
It's sizzling in Singapore right now, so I'd love some rain myself. I've never been to New Jersey, but I've heard good things about it. It looks lovely, and a whole lot cooler than the tropics, where I live.
Unfortunately, a Singaporean woman was murdered in her home in New Jersey just over a year ago, and that's what I'm reminded of when I think of New Jersey. She had a beautiful house by the lake.
It can get so hot here that you can fry an egg on the pavement. And we get bush fires in the region, especially in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Thank God for the rain. And air-conditioning! And swimming pools! I'll be going for a nice, cool dip soon. Can't wait.
I lived in Westfield as a kid - it was blissful - I came back twenty years later back in 1999 and couldn't believe how it had not change much and was a green idllyic oasis. I love it.
Great blog - I can see why you had a Blog of Note :-) I will definitely come back for more... I made it to Franklin, NJ years ago (just so I could say I'd been to the only place on earth where the mineral Franlklite is found) and was amazed at what a beautiful state it really is...
I LOVE the rain. It is so beautiful and for a lot of people I find it brings up many different emotions.
The sound, it's smell, the way it makes everything fresh afterwards But of course the most important thing is it gives you a reason to relax at home with your honey or a comfy blanket and a book or movie.
Your videos are inspiring, love the music choices, your eye and travelling is the best thing for the soul.
